We think fewer piers in the whole section is the more important factor than the longer distance of the main span for ocean environments & landscape based on keeping the required navigation clearance. This also has to be differentiated from the cable-stayed bridge which is nearby on the same line. Minimal design excluding unnecessary decorative factors.
